ACS handled its 12th call in Algeria on Wednesday 24th October ending the 2007 season on a high note. This was the Clipper Adventurer on its final cruise before sailing on to Brazil and to its new owners. A few weeks earlier, Zegrahm made a 3 port call visiting Annaba, Algiers and Bejaïa on board the sleek Le Levant between the 7 and 9 October. The predominantly American passengers were very happy with their Algerian experience. In Annaba, the guides, who travelled on board between ports, participated in a Q & A session with the guests. Next day in Algiers, a famous local band played some music from three various regions of Algeria, which got many guests on the dance floor particularly when they played lively Berber and Raï music. It was an evening to remember! On the 10th October the Saga Rose visited Algiers for the first time ever. The British Ambassador Mr. Andrew Henderson and his wife visited the ship and were later hosted for lunch by the Master, Philip Rentell. For ACS, this was the largest number of passengers handled in one day and also the first time that many tours run simultaneously so it was very satisfying to hear that Algiers was one of the guests’ highlights of the itinerary. The years of planning and training had paid off as we had numerous staff members taking care of each group and many new guides which had been recently trained by ACS in preparation of increasing numbers of English speaking cruise tourists.
A content Ivan Mifsud and Mourad Larbi, joint managing directors of Algeria Cruise Services stated that “2008 is looking very promising with 19 calls already booked and a new client – Kristina Cruises”.
ACS has just totally revamped the website www.AlgeriaCruiseServices.com to reflect better the knowledge gained in their 2 year experience working all across Algeria from Oran to Annaba which also included handling two high-end American Private Jet Tours in 2006.
